The Eastern Gateway Reimagined: Disneyland Officially Breaks Ground on New Parking Structure and Transportation Hub

This morning, the Disneyland Resort celebrated the groundbreaking of the all-new parking structure and transportation hub that will be built on the east side of the resort.

What's Happening:

• Disneyland Resort President Jill Estorino gathered alongside Executive Architect Jonathan Peters, Anaheim Mayor Ashleigh Aitken, Anaheim City Council Members and leaders from McCarthy Building Companies, Granite Construction and The Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council to mark this important milestone. 
• This groundbreaking marks a major step forward for the resort and surrounding area as Disney works towards adding this parking structure and transportation hub on the east side of the Disneyland Resort.
• The planned massive overhaul of the Eastern Gateway will see construction of a new pedestrian bridge, marquee, and parking structure.
• This new area will provide more than 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and ride share areas and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area. 

• This project is part of the DisneylandForward project, that will see the Disneyland Resort expand beyond its current boundaries in the years to come.
• The relocation of transportation facilities from the east side of the main property to this new location will allow for new attractions, such as the planned Avatar Land, to be built.
